[[House of Elrond]]
This five story, octagonal stone building is the home of Elrond the Sage. Specializing in arcana, as well as ancient elvish literature, Elrond’s home is a repository of thousands of ancient tomes. Living with his five research assistants, Elrond is a wealth of knowledge related to information magical or related to Elvish history and literature. Each floor of his home is largely comprised of shelves to hold all of his tomes and assorted ancient scrolls and parchments. It is rumored that Elrond’s library also descends five or more stories below ground and that expansion is always an ongoing project. Despite his old, frail appearance, it is well known throughout the city that Elrond is an extremely powerful mage who is not to be trifled with. His typical fee for research is 25 gp. Due to his widespread reputation throughout the Western March, Elrond has access to the Elven libraries of the Welkwood and the dwarven libraries in the northern Razors, via his researchers.
Six feet tall, thin and appearing very frail, Elrond is almost always at home. Dressed in a mage’s robes, he is rarely ever seen without his ornately carved lacquered blue cane. Topped with a serpent’s head, the cane is exquisitely carved with small colorful scales down its length. In addition, Elrond is never seen without his dingy white scholars cap upon his head.
